Natural Cancer Blockers – Herbs &
Spices
In an article (Oct 2004) USA Weekend - see www.usaweekend.com published
a variety of herbs & spices that reduce the risk of cancer & actually
blocks cancer cells. These are simple every day herbs & spices we all
use in our cooking or eat with other foods.
Remember that old song “Parsley, Sage, Rosemary & Thyme”, well that’s
just what the Dr. ordered. Dr. Weil that is. - see www.drweil.com His new
book on herbs and spices will give you an accurate idea of what the risks
are and recommended dosages. Always ask a practiced & licensed Herbalist
belonging to a reputable Association and always inform your doctor or physician
of anything you are taking. Herbs interact with other medicines and may
cause serious side effects.
These herbs and spices are ancient and have been anchored into world cultures
and used in ceremonies, to heal & revive people from death’s door.
Chinese & Western Herbalism use herbs to make the body healthy &
to help heal itself. “Herbs & spices are full of antioxidants that
protect cells from damage that leads to diseases including cancer.” According
to USA Weekend.
Eating Rosemary (the herb) may reduce skin cancer risk while eating parsley
& basil reduces “lung cancer risk.”
Antioxidant & Anti-Cancer Spices & Herbs

if prone to high blood pressure

Digestion & Circulation
Ginger helps digestion by relaxing the stomach muscles. It also reduces
gas & helps speed digestion. Sage, dill, anise & fennel seeds also
prevent gas & aid in digestion.
Ginger helps improve circulation and kills germs & destroy bacteria
including salmonella, a common cause of food poisoning. So eating curried
& gingered dishes makes good health sense.
Ginger has been known to fight nausea and has been used by sailors for
centuries. Drink the tea of juice with ˝ tsp. ground ginger half an hour
before flying or sailing. The effects last for hours. Studies have shown
that it’s as helpful as Dramamine.
ANTI-CANCEROUS FOODS
The humble carrot. Yes, carrots are not only good for your eyes but they
reduce the risk of heart attacks & are anti-cancerous.
Broccoli – lots of calcium, Vitamin C & anti-cancerous particularly
to breast cancer.
Spinach – as Popeye would say today “ Bring it on, Baby!” – Full of Vitamin
C, E & Calcium, it’s anti-cancer
Onions – anti-cancerous, clears blocked nasal passages, it’s been used
for centuries as a healing herb. It also helps prevent heart attacks, colon,
rectal & stomach cancers.
Garlic – numerous studies are underway to isolate the chemicals but no
news from Ottawa as yet. We know it is anti-cancerous, reduces acidity
& lowers blood pressure, boosts the immune system & reduces blood
clotting.
Grapes – Full of Vitamin C, iron, potassium & helps prevent heart disease.
Strawberries reduces the risks of high blood pressure and all berries have
anti-cancerous properties as well as lowering cholesterol levels.
Thyme is on my hands,
Thyme or Thymus vulgaris, has been known in Europe since the 11th century.
It has been used for its strong taste, smell & medicinal properties.
Herbalists have used it to treat coughs, sore throat, & bronchial problems.
It is being used to treat flu symptoms by adding a few drops into some
hot
water or a vaporizer.
A warm infusion of this herb was used to relieve colic, coughs & promote
perspiration, as well as gastrointestinal problems such as gas & enteritis.
It is also used to treatment painful menstruation.
It is also a powerful antiseptic & is used by Listerine mouthwash &
Vicks
VapoRub. Thyme has also been associated with the relief of "rheumatic
problems, neurasthenia, paralysis, bruises, swelling & sprains. A salve
made from thyme has been used for shingles."1
Thymol is the active ingredient in thyme oil.
