CLINICAL HYPNOTHERAPY
Hypnosis.
Just saying the word conjures up images of The Great Reveen,
Svengali, Mesmer & the Hollywood image of hypnosis. “Watch the
watch”, “Look into my eyes.” type of stereotypes that don’t apply to
real life. In fact, these are “stage hypnotists”, great ones too but
this is very different than using hypnosis for yourself.
Hypnosis, was known in ancient Greece as “Sleep Healing”. Simply
stated, it is putting the body to sleep while the mind remains
totally alert. It is also bypassing the critical or conscious mind
and reaching the objective or subconscious mind. Hypnosis is also
the last 5 seconds before you fall asleep, it is a state or trance
state in which the mind is very relaxed. Using your imagination,
daydreaming are both focused activities that directly connect you to
the subconscious. The subconscious does as it is told therefore you
can achieve any goal and alleviate pain without medication because
everyone has the ability to go into trance.
In my practice, I do a “Progressive Relaxation” exercise together
with reflexology, which greatly relaxes the whole body. I have
incorporated my reflexology practice with the hypnotherapy and it
has reduced the tensions, stresses and fears of mind as well as
body. My clients have commented on how much more relaxed they feel
after a session.
I also test my clients so I know exactly the right language to use
during hypnotherapy. Everyone is different and testing allows me to
use the proper tools at the proper time.
This means you get a custom made session for you, there is no “one
size fits all”. You
get individual care.
TOP TEN HIT LIST OF DIS-EASES
ED – Erectile Dysfunction
Hypnosis and reflexology have proven to be successful in boosting
sexual function by 80% - British Journal of Urology Feb ’96. All
sexual dysfunction in men and women can be stopped by helping
yourself with hypnotherapy.
PAIN
The American Medical Association has stated that their
review panel found that the use of hypnosis alleviated pain
associated with cancer – July 24-31, 1996
SMOKING & LOSING WEIGHT
Yes, you can finally QUIT smoking & lose weight FOR GOOD! Whether
it’s smoking pot, cigarettes, cigars or crack, if you want to stop,
you can do it & it’s simpler than you thought and easier than you
think. If you are willing then you’re able. With hypnotherapy you
can ease the transition from being a smoker graduating to a
non-smoker. The symptoms are minimized and bearable while you learn
the reflexology points that help alleviate cravings.
With any addiction, you have to get to the root of the problem.
That’s true but I won’t make you relive the trauma, instead you will
know the problem but you can let it go, learn from the past and then
let it go. All issues addressed and dealt with, you can go on with
your life knowing how special you really are. A worthy individual
who has a lot to offer to the world.
NO DIET – you know what’s good for you and what isn’t. Diets don’t
work anyway, they are built for failure because no one can keep up
such deprivation for long or becoming so obsessive as to count every
calorie. For that matter I’ve tried them all too, the grapefruit
diet, Diet Center, Weightwatchers, the Master Cleanser with nothing
but hot water, maple syrup and cayenne pepper. That last one hurt on
the way out. Nothing worked for me. I also tried and failed with
exercise clubs that made you strain so much so the next day I could
hardly walk. Again, a ONE SIZE FITS ALL program that is geared to
fail and keep you on the program until you give up or get so
depressed you think of suicide. Before you do that, come to see me
and you will get your life under control again. I’ve been there so
you know, you’re safe & secure here. I am not here to judge people,
only to help.
I’ve noticed certain patterns in my life and I kept with the old
programs until I realized what I was doing. Killing myself trying to
please people that can never be pleased; working for people that
didn’t give a shit about me, with no hope of ever getting past a
desk. I also did drugs to escape all that and I got real fat. I
wasn’t with the right guy, I hated my job and the stress of
everything was getting so bad that I could hardly walk anymore. I
had to get bandages on my feet every day so I could make it back and
forth to work. I finally gave it all up before I totally collapsed
and took reflexology. My first lifesaving thing I did for myself.
The second thing I did for myself was I got the hell out of my
situation with negative people all around and started working out on
my treadmill.
After about a year and a half, I’ve lost 4 dress sizes, no weight
lost there yet but I’m working on it. Since I now have my Clinical
Hypnotherapy certificate, I’m practicing daily on working on myself
and it’s working very nicely.
What I’ve learned: Remember The Empire Strikes Back?
Luke to Yoda: I’m trying, I’m trying!
Yoda to Luke: That is where you fail, there is no try, just do.
Trying implies failure, you must do! With hypnotherapy you can
do it. In fact, all hypnosis is self-hypnosis and reflexology is
really you healing yourself. I am only a facilitator.
Since all hypnosis is self-hypnosis you can learn relaxation
techniques to let go of stress and tension in your life. Remember
stress of the mind causes stress in the body. Every thought, action
and thing that you do results in a positive or negative reaction in
the body. So keep positive.
So, when you are ready, call me.
TRAINING & CERTIFICATION
I am cross trained in various hypnotic techniques including those of
John Kappas, Ph.D.; Dr. Milton Erickson, Dave Elman, Charles
Tebbetts, Terrance Watts. There are also numerous others such as
Leslie LeCron, Dr. Charlotte Reznick, Ph.D. and Gerald Kein.
My teacher is Doris Gray, from the Meridian Institute in Duncan,
B.C. Tom Dawson also was a lecturer and teacher during the time I
spent at the institute. I had a great time and learned so much. We
in fact, we are constantly learning every day.
I graduated on Friday, August 1, 2003 as a Clinical
Hypnotherapist, certified by two independent Examiners. I passed my
practical and written exams and am enjoying being a hypnotherapist.
SO, now I can charge $65 per session. Sessions last approximately
45 minutes to 1 hour.
The first time involves testing which will take about 10 minutes.
That time can be expanded to longer times if necessary. However,
sessions normally last 1 hr.
The first time can be a little bit different than other
experiences you’ve had depending on your state of mind but there is
nothing to fear, not even fear itself. It’s only you who has those
thoughts, I’m here to facilitate you getting over your fears and
phobias.
Do you just sit back in my glider rocker, with your feet on the
floor and we begin a session and deal with whatever goal you have.
Leave your pet at home and get ready for the best relaxation you’ve
had in a long time. Why wait any longer, you have it in you to soar
above the clouds
CLINICAL HYPNOTHERAPY
With innovative new techniques, everyone can be helped through
clinical hypnotherapy. Modern methods of testing have improved so
much that even the staunchest of skeptics would agree that hypnosis
works. Of course, if you absolutely don’t want to be hypnotized, you
usually have a control issue so until you are ready and willing,
then don’t bother until you’ve changed your attitude and at least
try it.
No one can make you do something against your will. Unlike what
we see on television which seems to want people to believe that you
lose your mind like some zombie, clinical hypnotherapy is
completely safe.
The fact is, truth be told, hypnosis is experienced by everyone.
That’s right, at different times of the day we tend to daydream, or
we are so focused on something nothing else matters. During these
times, we are in a trance state of hypnosis. It’s really very
simple. You are always in control and totally aware. A
desensitization method helps you to ignore noise and disturbances,
then I center you and then we deal with whatever problem you have.

CONFIDENCE
In today's world we live in fear of just about everything. We're
afraid for
our health, in fact our very lives. The U.S. is on constant alert
for
terrorists and here we are afraid to eat chicken, fish or beef!
Let's not
forget pork either, or fiddlehead ferns or just about every kind of
junk
food there is. Everything's bad for our health right now.
Being afraid, constantly is really killing yourself with your own
fears.
Yes, there's real danger, we have to be aware at all times. However,
we
don't need to be fearful of who we are or of what life may bring if
we are
confident within our hearts that we are doing the right thing.
If you know you're doing the right thing and your heart really
tells you so,
as well as your brain, you do have to use your analytical skills in
everyday
living, but you do things in a loving way.
Reaching a peaceful state of mind in today's world is a real
challenge and
having confidence in oneself is essential to good health, how the
world
perceives you and how well you do in life. You have to ask yourself
the
following questions:
How do you feel about yourself? This is one question that all of
us have to
ask ourselves at some point in life. If you feel and think in a
negative
way, then that's what you get in life. If you think positively your
health
will reflect that. Either way, your every thought becomes crucial to
your
survival, so be kind to yourself and think loving thoughts towards
your
body. If you can look at yourself in the mirror at the end of the
day,
you're doing pretty good.
What rules your day? This is along the same lines as the first
question.
If you focus on a single thing, is it negative or positive? Can you
let go
of the hurts and disappointments that will come during any given day
and
just let them float by like flotsam on the ocean? Or do you dwell on
something until it becomes a sore spot? Everyone has a character
type as
well as being individual. In hypnotherapy, confidence is gained
through
honestly addressing the problems involved on a personal basis with
one-on-one interaction. Examine your thoughts and feelings
throughout the
day without being too analytical and see if you can't change some of
your
thinking. Try incorporating new, positive thoughts and writing down
specific goals & dreams and how you want your life to progress.
Don't give
your power to someone else and play the victim, you control your
thoughts,
no one else. If you are disciplined enough to keep writing a
journal, wish
list or dream book for at least 3 weeks, then you may well get your
wish.
Just be careful how you word your wish because you only get what you
ask
for.
STINKING THINKING
Your thoughts influence your body and how you feel just as surely
as every
morsel of food affects you put in your body affects your mood. In
any given
day we are given a choice and that is to control ourselves. We can't
control anyone else just our reactions and feelings towards
situations and
people. We can control how we react, and what we choose to say or do
next.
It helps to think about what you want the outcome to be, then
carefully word
your thoughts. You do have to consider the feelings of others before
opening your big mouth.
It may not be possible to stop your thoughts unless you are
"unconscious",
but there are ways to slow down your thoughts and just be. Thoughts
are
like waves, there's always another one coming along so learn to
float.
When a thought comes along, acknowledge it, get as much as you can
out of
it, then simply let it go, there's another one coming.
The good news is there's plenty of help out there if you can open
your mind
to finding your inner healer. You can get in touch with the real you
through hypnotherapy, creative visualization, meditation, guided
imagery or
whatever you want to call it. It's all the same thing,
self-hypnosis.
Almost everybody knows, or are at least aware of what healthy and
unhealthy
eating is. Stop focusing on what you eat and get to the root of the
problem
why you are eating when you're not really hungry. Emotional eaters
eat
because it's a way of numbing feelings and not facing up to what the
issues
really are. Hypnotherapy will gently ease you through the walls of
denial
you've set up and truly set you free. You'll never diet again,
you'll
always have the confidence that you are in charge of your life.
For your personal happiness, you need confidence. You need to
project
confidence, although you may be nervous in the beginning, you'll
pull
through so keep at it. Perseverance is the key. You can "fake it
'til you
make it." So the more you do something the better you get at it.
Believe
you are confident and you are.
When you talk, talk calmly and positively and take account of the
impact of
your words. Using a lot of negatives such as "don't smoke" will only
result
in negative response, such as the smoker smoking even more. Denying
something is not a way of getting rid of it, in fact it focuses more
energy
on the problem, making it worse. As Dr. Phil says, "You can't change
what
you don't acknowledge." Use positive phrases, words and sentences
that will
enhance your confidence rather than negative phrases like "you're
fat,
you're ugly and stupid." Keep repeating positive thoughts in your
mind,
these will keep you afloat in a sea of negative advertising.
Remember that
advertising is meant to instill the thought that you can't manage on
your
own without some product. The fact is, they need you but you don't
need
them. You'll never find happiness through the material world.
It's a hard world we live in and it's the tough who really get
going when
it's rough. If you don't do anything else in your life, get in touch
with
your true feelings and why things are the way they are in your life.
Stop
being and playing the victim, you may very well have been a victim
in the
beginning but you must overcome and gain back your self-esteem and
self-confidence. Never let fear rule where love should dwell.
Healthy eating is just one more way of thanking your body for
putting up
with you. If you are healthy you have everything, if you are not you
have
nothing.
New Year's Resolutions – Sticking to it!
It's that time of year when people want to get fit after stuffing themselves silly and gaining an average of 5-8 pounds during the holidays. It's perhaps even more than that if you add alcohol to the mix.
I've had my share of New Year's resolutions fall by the wayside. The truth is, most health fitness gurus know that the majority of people won't follow through on their diets or exercise programs. They make more money selling memberships that people won't attend. It's crazy isn't it?
Okay, so I tried. I've heard that a thousand times. Trying implies failure. It means you're giving yourself an out because you can always fail. It's copping out on yourself . If you don't think you can, you won't.
I think it's great that people think about their health, but it's even better when they actually do something about it. The next questions is where do you start. Well folks, start by clearing up your thinking. What you say to yourself everyday affects your body and will likely determine what you will and won't do. The hardest thing to change is your self-talk and your core beliefs about yourself. Dr. Phil says there is no reality, only perception, and it's your perception about yourself that really matters.
Start by phrasing your language differently. If you use catastrophic language, everything becomes terrible and makes a mountain out of a molehill. “Never ask a question where there is only a negative response is possible. What you need to ask is, “who do I need to talk to, to get the direction I need or what haven't I done yet to allow myself to succeed? You should ask questions that will make you hunt for a solution to your problem.””
What you say to yourself has an effect on your body as surely as if someone else hurt you. Negative thoughts have a negative impact and positive thoughts have the power to uplift.
