TOOTHACHES

Aches & pains, tooth grinding

Reflexology

The reflex for the teeth are located on the tops of the toes, and on the dorsal side of the fingers just above the knuckles. By applying pressure using your index fingers, or whichever finger feels good you will find the sensitive area relating to the left or right side on which the aching tooth is located.

Food Therapy

Take a couple of cloves from the spice rack and put it between the aching tooth and your cheek. Used for centuries for toothaches.

Herbal Remedies

Oil of clove can soothe the pain until you get to the dentist but not full strength, this can damage the nerve endings. There are over the counter medications such as Orajel that contain oil of cloves, known as eugenol. Follow instructions on container. Bergamot

Meditation and Relaxation

Focus your pain and rate it from zero to ten, then concentrate on places in your body that feel calm and are pain-free. Keep searching deeper into your body and mind for pain-free points. As you refocus on these calm centres, the pain your tooth will fade into the background. Use this whenever you are in pain. If pain is chronic, see your doctor, there is no use to live in pain when it can be relieved.

Tooth Grinding

Usually caused by stress, this nighttime “gnashing of teeth” can wear down your teeth and stress out your spouse too. Jaw clenching during the day is called Bruxism. Both lead to jaw pain and can cause headaches, neck and shoulder pain. Reflexology will release tension and stress and remove blocked passages, as well as relieve headaches, neck & shoulder pain. Hypnotherapy will get to the root of the problem to relieve and remove the cause.

Diverticulitis and diverticulosis

Diverticula are small sac-like protrusions that form on the intestine walls commonly found in the colon, especially the sigmoid colon. Diverticulosis is the name given this problem when there are no complications but there is a weakened bowel walls penetrated by blood vessels and diverticulitis is the name given when there is inflammation. Toxicity results from these problems and reflexology works to help eliminate toxins. Herbs would enhance the effects of reflexology in this instance.

Fibromyalgia

A condition resulting either from overuse or underuse of muscles to the point of pain where muscles are stressed out. Fibromyalgia means the fibrous muscle tissues that are painful to the touch such as neck, shoulders, back or all over tenderness and pain. Of course, you should consult your doctor when you jump when points are pressed. If you have sleep problems, are feverish or are depressed you should definitely see a doctor especially if any symptoms last more than 3 months.

What you can do to help yourself after consultation with a qualified Doctor:

Change your eating habits - so far if you´ve stuck to the same old thing, chances are you are eating yourself into your problems. If you can´t make a total lifestyle change, ie: we can´t change the jobs we have unless we have taken steps to change, but we certainly can control what we eat.

Start by eating barley greens once a day. Barley greens contain an anti-inflammatory agent.

Yoga is also recommended since it would stretch out the muscles and reduce spasms and pain.

Reflexology and other types of massage would also help reduce pain and spasms along with boosting the immune system for improvement of overall health.
