OTHER THERAPIES
Everything we do and experience in life is connected in some way
or another. Our actions determine our fate as much as anything else
and we must understand that everything we put in our bodies, everything
we feel and experience in our lives affects our health. We must
take full responsibility for our own actions and account for what
we do. Our bodies have the capacity to heal but only if we give
them the chance. So, if you take reflexology it won´t do any
harm but getting off the couch or chair and taking a walk for a
few blocks or just for a half hour will also work wonders. So what
if it is raining, you´re not going to melt out there. So put
on your rain suit and go for a walk.
Other therapies such as yoga (asanas or postures), swimming and
walking are the best exercises or postures to take for a lifetime
of good health. Unless you have very good running shoes, running
on hard surfaces such as cement and asphalt jars our bodies a great
deal and are not conducive to long-term health of bones and cartilage.
Skiing and high impact sports also have a tendency to do damage
to our bodies by jarring the body around that in the end causes
problems. Walking and swimming will work out every part of the body
producing the same results as running but without adverse side effects.
You only need to walk 1/2 hour a day to begin with and increase
the time to 45 minutes to an hour a day if you can. If you can´t
just do what you can. Remember, pain doesn´t heal it hurts.
When you feel pain it is time to stop and find out what is causing
the pain.
Reflexology can only enhance such practices as massage and acupuncture,
accupressure and chiropractors, as well as traditional medicine
and cannot do any harm in any way.
